Today marks 40 years since NASA Challenger disaster

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Today, January 28, marks 40 years since the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded just 73 seconds into its flight.

The disaster killed all seven crew members: Dick Scobee, Michael Smith, Judith Resnick, Ronald McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Gregory Jarvis, and Christa McAuliffe.
