CALL FOR HELP: Salvation Army asks for towels, blankets as snow threat increases

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – As severe cold weather continues to impact the Augusta area, with additional winter weather expected this weekend, The Salvation Army Center of Hope is urgently seeking donations of clean towels and blankets to support individuals and families staying in the shelter.

Due to the recent cold weather, the Center of Hope is currently operating at full capacity, and continued low temperatures are placing increased strain on essential supplies. Basic items such as towels and blankets are now critically needed.

The Center of Hope is Augusta’s only emergency overnight shelter that allows families to stay together, providing safe lodging, meals, and essential support services to men, women, and families experiencing homelessness.

“With the shelter at capacity and bitter cold weather continuing, we are facing an urgent need for essential items like towels and blankets,” said Major Jonathan Raymer, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Augusta. “We are asking our community to look through their closets and bring any clean towels or blankets they can spare to the Center of Hope as soon as possible.
