ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) – Off the Isle of Palms coast sits a Civil War-era shipwreck. After being undisturbed for more than a century, the Stone Fleet shipwreck is back in the spotlight of a dredging project.
Beach renourishment projects on the Isle of Palms continue, and protecting the Stone Fleet shipwreck is a priority. The island explained they’re working to preserve the past, as they prepare the island for the future.
