Charleston family cat abducted by Uber Eats driver

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Charleston Police are investigating after a resident reported that his family’s cat was abducted by a food delivery driver in a Silver SUV, according to an incident report.

Daniel Layfield, a Charleston resident, reported to officers that his cat, a predominantly white Calico American longhair named Willa, went missing from his home at 53 Church st. on Jan 15 around 6:15 p.m After reviewing home security cameras, Layfield found that the cat was last seen about 30 minutes earlier on the family’s front piazza.

Willa’s Apple Air Tag briefly pinged early the next morning near 68 Wentworth St., outside the Lindy Renaissance Hotel, but Layfield said he only found the tag, which was separated from the collar, at the location…
