While Montgomery County didn’t get the many inches of snow as predicted, homes, yards and roads did get covered with snow, ice and sleet, prompting more than 9,000 tons of salt used and more than 5,000 hours of work performed by Clarksville Street Department.
As Clarksville residents wait for temperatures to stay above freezing, the City of Clarksville is providing an update on snow and ice clean-up from the Jan. 24 wintry weather mix that’s left an impact for almost a week.
According to the news release from the City, the “lasagna” of snow, sleet and ice accumulation, combined with the extremely cold conditions, resulted in more than 9,000 tons of salt and more than 5,000 man-hours to keep main city streets passable…
