DETROIT (WWJ) — Detroit’s police union is pushing back against a city council proposal that would ban officers from wearing masks while on duty.
The ordinance was recently introduced by Councilwoman Mary Waters after he killing of 37-year-old nurse, Alex Pretti, by masked ICE agents in Minnesota. In a statement, Waters says the public deserves to see who is enforcing the law in their city “We will not have a Detroit where a masked mob are afforded the opportunity to enforce the law with impunity. We want to see the faces of law enforcement in Detroit,”.
