MOBILE, Ala. (WALA)- A Mobile woman vacationing in the Caribbean got a surprise when she spotted a Wave Transit bus from her hometown rolling through the streets of Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Lorey Koory was visiting Grand Turk over the Christmas holidays when she captured video of the familiar bus.
“It’s such a surreal experience. I’m more than 1,200 miles from home, and then a WAVE bus just pulls out right in front of us,” Koory said. “My reaction was obviously, ‘Oh my God, it’s a bus from Mobile right here in Grand Turk. Did someone drop me into the Twilight Zone?’”
