MNPD: 3 indicted in connection with 2020 deadly robbery, shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Three men have been indicted on murder charges in connection with a deadly shooting that happened in June 2020.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 48-year-old Ibrahim Oruc was shot on June 1, 2020, at a short-term rental on Joseph Avenue. He died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center three weeks after the shooting.

Police said Oruc — a California native — was one of several men who met at the short-term rental. A confrontation occurred and Oruc was ordered to get on the ground while at gunpoint, per the MNPD; he was reportedly shot while trying to run away.
