Irate teenage driver kicks deputy’s window during traffic stop

A Leesburg teen was arrested after refusing to listen to a deputy and kicking the window of a patrol vehicle during a traffic stop.

A deputy saw 19-year-old Pharalan Blunt speed past in a white passenger car on Main Street in Leesburg at 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Seeing he was going about 80 mph, the deputy immediately turned around and tried to catch up for a traffic stop. He got behind the vehicle, which ran several stop signs before emergency lights were activated behind it. It then went across South Street and parked at a residence there, the report said.

Blunt proceeded to get out of the driver’s seat while yelling and acting extremely irate. He failed to listen to several commands, instead continuing to yell at the occupants still inside the vehicle. The deputy subsequently detained him in handcuffs even as he tried to pull away, the report said…
