Matthew P. Bonaguaro used the borough’s fleet fuel card on multiple occasions to buy gas for personal use without authorization, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Authorities said investigators traced months of fuel purchases made on the borough account and determined that approximately $2,763.98 in fuel was charged for a personal vehicle rather than borough-owned vehicles, Musella said.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Confidential Investigations Unit received information on Oct. 29, 2025, regarding irregularities with fuel expenses for borough vehicles in Palisades Park, according to Musella.
