A Baldwin resident is celebrating a big lottery win after claiming a $150,000 Powerball prize at the Louisiana Lottery’s Lafayette regional office.
Alvin Lucas matched four of the five white ball numbers plus the red Powerball during the Jan.19 drawing. By adding the $1 Power Play option, his winnings were tripled from $50,000 to $150,000.
Lucas purchased his winning ticket at One Stop Convenience, located at 310 Main St. in Baldwin. He visited the Lafayette Lottery office on Tuesday, Jan. 20, where he received $109,500 after state and federal tax withholdings…
