REVISIT: St. Louis’ ‘blizzard’ of 1982

ST. LOUIS – As St. Louis is dealing with the remnants of the most recent snow storm, Friday marks the anniversary of one of the highest-ranking snowfalls the city has ever seen.

Residents were caught off guard waking up on Jan. 30, 1982, when forecasters were predicting a mere two to four inches of snow for the area, but rather were greeted to an unofficial “blizzard.”

According to prior reporting from FOX 2 meteorologist Chris Higgins, it was closer to 24 inches of snow that stuck around in surrounding areas…
