Man arrested, accused of stabbing someone after being ‘struck by pitchfork’ in Fairgrounds neighborhood

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department arrested a man accused of stabbing someone after being struck with a pitchfork on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Gentilly Boulevard around 12:01 p.m. According to officers, the victim and suspect were having an argument when the suspect, 24-year-old Pedro Leonardo Ochoa Gamboa, began “chasing him on foot.”

NOPD officers said the victim hit Gamboa with a pitchfork. Following this, officers said Gamboa allegedly “produced a knife” and stabbed the victim.

The victim was taken to a hospital by New Orleans EMS. Officers later arrested Gamboa at the scene…
