ICE Out protests prompt staff shortage in Boulder Valley School District

The Boulder Valley School District will remain open Friday despite an anticipated staffing shortage amid nationwide ICE out protests.

Nearly a quarter of the district’s teachers called out of work for Friday, according to a Thursday district press release. BVSD is warning that it did not know so many teachers would call out of work, and that the school day on Friday will be impacted, the release states.

The announcement comes ahead of Friday’s nationwide ICE Out protests, which include a general strike spurring people to skip school, work and refrain from patronizing businesses.
