WEATHER ALERT: Snowfall is likely on Saturday, bitterly cold temps for Sunday

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Wintry weather is likely in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry on Saturday with bitterly cold conditions setting up for Sunday. Both days will be Storm Team 3 Weather Alert Days as a result.

WEATHER ALERTS

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for areas along and North of I-16 Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning for Georgia and the Lowcountry. 1-4″ of snowfall is possible with the greatest amount the farther North you are located.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for our counties along and south of I-16 Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. Up to about an inch of snow is possible. Locations farther South will receive lesser amounts of snow.

An Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for the entire Coastal Empire and Lowcountry 7 p.m. until Noon Sunday. Low temperatures will be in the teens, and a strong and gusty wind will make conditions feel colder. Wind Chill values will be in the single digits by Sunday morning.
