One dead, one injured in Friday morning collision on Nexton Parkway

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) — A multivehicle crash on Nexton Parkway left one person dead and one person injured on Friday morning following a chase, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The report on the incident from highway patrol officers states that at approximately 5:20 a.m., a 2022 Chevrolet sedan was fleeing from police on Nexton Parkway near Grand Boulevard when it attempted to pass a 2023 Honda SUV.

The driver of the Chevy reportedly drove into incoming traffic and struck a 2018 Subaru SUV. The driver of the Chevy, later identified as 21-year-old Enaj B. Vasconcellos, from Summerville, suffered fatal injuries, and the driver of the Subaru was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Honda was uninjured…
