Some Tennessee SNAP recipients eligible for benefit replacements in aftermath of deadly winter storm

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Department of Human Services is prepared to replace Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits for current recipients in the aftermath of the deadly winter storm.

DHS said this service is for SNAP households “who suffered losses due to severe weather which may have caused power outages or a household misfortune.”

To receive the benefits, the power outage must have lasted 12 hours or more…
