Man charged in attempted kidnapping of Lincoln woman, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man was arrested and charged after he allegedly attempted to kidnap a Lincoln woman last November.

Around 12:25 a.m. Nov. 6, 2025, Lincoln Police were dispatched to an apartment near North 23rd and R streets on a report of a domestic assault. Officers contacted two neighbors who witnessed part of the incident, as well as the victim.

The victim told police she had been attacked by 27-year-old Kijaune Leach, with whom she said she had been in an on-and-off relationship for about four years. She said Leach came to her apartment door, struck her in the face and then tried to lift, carry and drag her out of the building against her will, court documents show.
