The Caddo Parish Coroner’s office is releasing the name of one of two Shreveport men who perished due to presumed hypothermia during recent extreme cold weather conditions that enveloped the region.
Frederick A. Thomas, 63, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at 5:50 p.m. at Willis-Knighton Medical Center on Greenwood Road, where he had been taken after he was found behind the YWCA building at 700 Pierre Avenue, near downtown Shreveport.
A second man was also found Jan. 24, 2026, behind the SporTran terminal in the 1200 block of Murphy Street, and was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 11:02 p.m. that day. Efforts are underway to contact his next of kin…
