Arnold Police arrest two in alleged shoplifting incident

An Arnold Police officer arrested a 57-year-old St. Louis man for allegedly stealing items from an Arnold department store, grocery store and pharmacy following a traffic stop. The officer also arrested another man traveling in the pickup that was stopped because that man was wanted for a parole violation, police reported.

The officer on Jan. 13 stopped a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado on northbound I-55 near Hwy. 141 because the pickup was suspected of being involved in the shoplifting incidents. The officer arrested the St. Louis man after allegedly finding items stolen from the Kohls department store, 2150 Michigan Ave., Aldi grocery store, 2154 Michigan Ave., and the CVS pharmacy, 2120 Lone Star Drive, in the pickup, the report said.

The officer allegedly found watches and clothes worth $332.94 that were stolen from Kohls, items worth $101.73 stolen from Aldi and hygiene items worth $482.45 stolen from CVS. The items were returned to the businesses, according to the report…
