Denver police arrest alleged hatchet-wielding suspect

DENVER (KDVR) — An individual accused of threatening to kill two people while armed with a hatchet and a knife was taken into custody by Denver police on Sunday, Jan. 25.

The Denver Police Department said Friday that the suspect was arrested after officers responded to reports of a person threatening to kill two people while armed with a hatchet at a residence in the 3000 block of Delgany Street on Jan. 25.

Arriving officers learned two people were trapped inside the residence and unable to safely exit, according to DPD, which said an investigation revealed the suspect appeared to have stabbed the door behind which the people were hiding.
