Two teen hikers rescued from Moanalua Ridge Trail after experiencing muscle cramps

HONOLULU (Island News) — Two teenage boys who were hiking Moanalua Ridge Trail were rescued by Honolulu firefighters on Thursday evening after they experienced muscle cramps.

The Honolulu Fire Department received a call for a rescue on the Moanalua Ridge Trail after 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29. Fire personnel learned that a 17-year-old boy was hiking with four of his friends since noon when both of his legs started cramping, leaving him unable to continue the hike. The hiker was located and treated with first aid at 7:11 p.m.

As he was getting treated, someone else in his group, another 17-year-old boy, also experienced muscle cramps…
