LEXINGTON, Ky.—Good news for Kentucky travelers without a Real ID. A backup option at the airport will soon be available, but it’ll cost you. Starting this Sunday, travelers can use a TSA ConfirmID as a replacement for a Real ID.
It’s TSA’s newest way for strengthening security and protecting travelers nationwide.
Since May, travelers have been warned that they need a REAL ID or another approved form of identification to board a domestic plane, some federal facilities, and nuclear power plants.But starting on February 1st, passengers will be able to use the new TSA ConfirmID, a new identity verification system from the Transportation Security Administration.
