Man charged with ID theft, forgery following store fraud investigation

A New Jersey man is facing multiple charges of identity theft, forgery and other crimes in Delaware.

According to State Police, investigators determined that the suspect made 28 visits to various Home Depot stores in Delaware last August and September. He told employees that he forgot his Home Depot credit card and used another person’s Social Security number. Police said he presented fraudulent cards showing his photograph but containing the personal information of another person.

31-year-old Christian Pacheco of Perth Amboy, New Jersey was taken into custody earlier in January, according to State Police. Thursday, he was taken to Delaware, arraigned, and released after posting nearly $64,000 bond.
