OREGON, Ohio — A lawsuit filed in Lucas County Common Pleas Court has accused the city of Oregon and several city council members of violating Ohio’s Open Meetings Act by allegedly making key decisions outside public view.
The complaint was filed on Thursday by a nonprofit group called Responsible Government 4 Oregon, LLC. It names the city of Oregon and four city council members as defendants and claims city leaders improperly approved a severance agreement for a former city administrator and preselected a new council member through private discussions, rather than public meetings.
