Helping Hounds Dog Rescue steps in to aid overcrowded CNY SPCA

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Helping Hounds Dog Rescue has taken significant action to assist the Central New York SPCA amid severe overcrowding and staff exhaustion.

Between Nov. 22, 2025, and Jan. 15, Helping Hounds Dog Rescue initially took in 10 dogs from the SPCA.

On Jan. 23, a coordinated effort between the two organizations resulted in the transfer of 29 more dogs, with an additional dog arriving shortly after, bringing the total to 30 dogs rescued…
