Emergency crews prepare for winter weather across southeastern North Carolina

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Emergency crews across southeastern North Carolina are preparing for longer response times and modified protocols as snow is expected to impact the region this weekend.

Pender County Fire and EMS Chief Mark Haraway said road conditions are his primary concern as the department prepares for the winter weather event. The department is calling in additional personnel and switching to four-wheel drive vehicles once snow begins accumulating.
