York County Home Sales Rise in 2025 as Inventory Grows and Market Eases

Home sales across York County, including the Fort Mill area, rose steadily in 2025 as more homes came onto the market and price growth began to cool, according to new data from Canopy MLS.

York County closed 4,416 homes last year, a 7.8 percent increase compared to 2024, making it the strongest-performing county among four South Carolina counties tracked just south of Charlotte. The region also includes Lancaster, Chester, and Chesterfield counties.

The increase in sales was fueled in part by a sharp rise in inventory, which gave buyers more options after several years of tight supply. York County ended 2025 with 973 homes on the market, up significantly from the year before.
