‘It felt like home’: Rhode Island man adopts biological daughter he never knew

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — This past week in Cranston, a reunion decades in the making became official through adoption.

Jennifer Skiles grew up in Tennessee and was adopted at three years old. She lost both of her adoptive parents by the time she was 25, and then the search for her biological parents began.

“I was told my biological mother’s name, and we went to Germany and I was able to obtain my German birth certificate, where I was born on a military base in Germany,” Skiles said.
