Two sisters have been arrested after police say they neglected their 64-year-old mother so severely that her skin was peeling from her body and she was left unable to move, feed or clean herself.
Alicia Bureau, 42, and Chereia McKinley, 39, both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, were taken into custody Thursday and each charged with one count of cruelty to the elderly or infirm, according to court records.
The case began on Wednesday, January 14, when one of the sisters called 911 to request medical assistance for their mother at the home the three shared on Bellhaven Trace Drive.
