ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The City of Rockford Public Works announced Thursday that the long-planned overhaul of Davis Park will now be completed in Summer 2026, leaving uncertainty for major events originally expected to return to the site this year.
The Davis Park Improvement Project began on September 30, 2025, and includes seawall repairs, riverwalk realignments, new multi-use paths, a custom playground, a full skatepark, grading and landscaping, and a new parking lot south of the railroad tracks.
