At least 21 schools within the Tucson Unified School District are closed Friday due to staff shortages amid a nationwide protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The list includes K-8 and high schools across the Tucson area. TUSD leadership says a high number of staff members are using their personal leave at those campuses, and it cannot meet the necessary supervision ratios to ensure student safety.
