Interstate 85 northbound in Kannapolis has reopened hours after several crashes left more than 100 vehicles stranded on the highway.
The lanes were reopened shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday between mile markers 60 and 63.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said it would take several hours to clear the area and allow people to drive away.
