Distracted driver in Clovis runs red light, hits car with children inside, police say

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Subaru driver distracted by her GPS went through a red light and hit a car with three children inside on Friday night, according to the Clovis Police Department.

Officers say the crash took place around 9 p.m., close to the intersection of Shaw Avenue and Armstrong Avenue in Clovis.

The Subaru driver was traveling eastbound on Shaw Avenue when she was distracted by the GPS and went through a red light, colliding with a Chevrolet that had three children and their mother inside going through a green light on Armstrong Avenue, according to police…
