GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police have responded to more than 100 crashes as icy roads worsened during the winter storm, and they’re urging people to stay off the roads.
Police said many drivers are underestimating the danger of ice-covered roads, mistaking snow-covered streets as safe to travel. Officials warned that while snowfall may appear manageable, ice remains underneath and continues to make driving hazardous.
