(NewsNation) — Millions of Americans are bracing for potential record cold and snow over the next 24 hours.
Central Florida is forecast to be nearly 50 degrees below the seasonal average, with temperatures in Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Jacksonville expected to drop into the teens. Atlanta and the Carolina coast are bracing for single-digit wind chills, while inland areas of North Carolina may struggle to remain above 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

The National Weather Service said Greenville and Fayetteville, North Carolina, could pick up as much as 18 inches of snow — more than four times what that area expects in an entire year.
