WASHINGTON (7News) — District crews are working around the clock to clear snow-covered alleys, schools, and neighborhoods as Washington, D.C., continues its recovery from last week’s brutal winter storm.
Mayor Muriel Bowser said city teams are using bobcats and other heavy machinery to clear pathways to alley trash and recycling bins across the city. Crews are operating in two 12-hour shifts, including overnight, until collection routes are fully restored.
As of Friday, Jan. 30, the city announced revised trash and recycling schedules:
- Monday frontside collection will be picked up Saturday, Jan. 31
- Tuesday frontside collection will be picked up Sunday, Feb. 1
- Households with alley collections on any day, or frontside collections on days other than Monday or Tuesday, are advised to check back Feb. 1 for updates.
Bobcats will remain active throughout the weekend, with priority given to alleys that normally receive Monday and Tuesday collections…
