Police arrest second suspect in Albuquerque’s first homicide of the year

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque police have arrested a second suspect in the first homicide of the year.

Police say Dominic Martinez, 22, helped Peyton Reagan by offering him a ride to downtown Albuquerque on Jan. 1, 2026, to kill his girlfriend and two other people.

According to APD, Martinez texted Reagan about getting his cousin to drive them, kill three people, and trade the gun for two handguns.

Reagan, 18, was arrested after running from the shooting scene near Gold Avenue and Eighth Street just before 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day…
