Tucson, Arizona – A Tucson man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder following a violent head-on crash that killed a 28-year-old woman earlier this month. Investigators say the collision occurred after the suspect crossed into oncoming traffic while speeding, triggering a fatal impact on a busy east-side roadway.
The Tucson Police Department confirmed that Paul Eduardo Meza-Cortez, 23, was taken into custody and booked into the Pima County Jail in connection with the crash that occurred on January 18.

According to police, the deadly collision happened around 7 p.m. on January 18 in the 4000 block of East Fort Lowell Road. Officers say Meza-Cortez was driving a 2017 Jeep Wrangler at a high rate of speed when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2017 red Mitsubishi Mirage head-on.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, Angela Marie King, 28, was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
