A viral Disneyland money-saving travel hack is shutting down

Travel to Disneyland is about to get more difficult, especially for park employees and budget-minded guests. The Anaheim Transportation Network, which operates the Anaheim Regional Transportation bus, announced on Jan. 28 that it will end its operations in the coming months. Both the park and local tourism-focused businesses are now searching for alternatives.

“For nearly three decades, the Anaheim Transportation Network has supported mobility in the Anaheim Resort — serving residents, employees and millions of visitors,” the ATN Board of Directors said in a statement announcing the closure, per the Orange County Register. “After an extended evaluation of our current and future financial position and exhausting all options, ATN will begin an orderly wind-down of operations.”

The ATN, operating since 2002, had been facing significant budget shortfalls in recent years and was struggling to maintain solvency. In her preface to the ATN fiscal year 2025-2026 budget transmittal, CEO Diana Kotler listed significant challenges to the network, including “stagnant revenues and rising day-to-day operational costs.”…
