TSA to charge $45 for identity checks as REAL ID enforcement begins

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Travelers planning to fly domestically are being reminded that beginning Sunday, passengers without a REAL ID or another acceptable form of identification may be required to pay a fee to verify their identity at airport security checkpoints.

Travelers who do not have a REAL ID or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport, will have to a $45 fee to verify your identity through TSA ConfirmID. The policy applies to domestic flights and is intended to ensure passengers meet federal identification requirements before boarding.
