GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Road conditions in Greenville remained dangerous as icy conditions continued to develop Saturday evening, prompting officials to urge drivers to stay off the roads.
Sheets of ice were visible along South Academy Street and N Markley Street near Unity Park, where traffic was noticeably light. While fewer drivers were out, those who did venture onto the roads said conditions were slick, especially as temperatures dropped and snow began to melt and refreeze.
Savannah Markahm said main roads were mostly clear, but neighborhood streets were still covered in snow. “Main roads seemed pretty clear. But the little side roads kind of in the neighborhoods are pretty snow covered. But we’re in a big truck, so we didn’t really slide too much,” she said…
