MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW)– Temperatures are warming into the 20s, but wind chills are still in the teens. The snow has quickly wrapped up. Snow accumulation estimates are ranging from 6″ in Myrtle Beach beating the previous top 5 snow event from last years January snowstorm, 12″ in Lumberton, 8″ in N. Myrtle, and counting. Some locations picked up even more due to intense bands of snow. It will be windy this morning, before tapering off into the evening. Gusts around the coastal areas reached near 35-45 mph overnight. Early morning winds will cause low visibility, so be careful if you must be on the roads.
The storm is slowly moving off shore, with skies gradually clearing by the afternoon. It will stay windy and very cold. Snow will not melt over the next few days. The coldest morning will likely be tonight into Monday morning. The sunshine returns tomorrow…
