WEST DES MOINES, Iowa– Local chocolatiers are preparing for what one says is the single busiest day of the year, Valentine’s Day.
The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory has been open for three years in the historic Valley Junction, serving up chocolates, caramel apples, ice cream and unique twists on original favorites. Two weeks from Valentine’s Day, the preparations are already underway.
Store owner, Meredith Smith, said Valentine’s Day is the busiest day of the year for them by far. Last year, she said they went through around 40 pounds of chocolate-covered strawberries on the day, and were non-stop dipping them for 12 hours straight…
