Arkansas Department of Corrections officer killed in deadly crash outside Cummings Unit

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ark. – Arkansas officials confirmed that an officer with the Department of Corrections was in a deadly crash outside the Cummins Unit on Thursday night.

ADC officials confirmed that 20-year-old Corporal Kajayla Hill died in the crash. The preliminary crash report from the Arkansas State Police states Hill was driving a Nissan that was hit by a Peterbilt truck.

Hill was the only person in the car. The preliminary report shows Hill pulled onto Highway 65 at the Highway 388 intersection without yielding to the northbound 18-wheeler, which then struck her car.

Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash, according to the report. She was taken to the Delta Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, the report states…
