COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A woman is in the hospital after police say she was shot while trying to reach for an officer’s gun.
Officers responded to the 1200 block of Delaware Drive around 10 p.m. Saturday after getting reports of a man chasing a woman. The neighborhood is a few blocks of Citadel Mall. Callers told police they saw one of the people carrying a rifle.
“When officers arrived on scene, they contacted a female who matched the description of the female who was reportedly involved in the disturbance. She was armed with a knife and began running from officers and refusing their commands to stop,” the Colorado Springs Police Department said…
