Live Updates: Large amounts of chemical munitions deployed on protesters throughout the night

Most protesters vacate federal building after heavy gassing

Daily Emerald reporters are off the scene for the night. Around 20 protesters remained around 10:15 p.m., but the scene was largely peaceful. All federal agents had returned to the building following large bouts of pepper balls and tear gas launched across 7th Avenue.

Bystanders and fellow protesters assisted an individual who had been struck in the back of the head, moving him across the street before relocating again to Eighth Avenue and Park Street. Because the gas was so potent, they moved him again to Oak Street and Eighth Avenue, where he was eventually treated by medical personnel and transported. At least two others were injured after being struck below the waist with pepper balls; both were able to walk from the scene.
