Aces stay “All In” to their community

The Aces and their team continue to give back to the community. Just a few days ago, they packed about 450 bags of necessities for people and families living in Las Vegas’ underground flood channels. The bags included items such as toothpaste, sanitary wipes, snacks, water, hats and more.

The sad truth

The Aces could not do it alone. They teamed up with the Shine A Light Foundation, which focuses on supporting Las Vegas’ unhoused community. Homelessness remains an urgent issue in major cities. In 2024, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development estimated that 10,106 people in the area experienced homelessness, including about 2,000 living in flood tunnels.

Living in the tunnels is not only unsafe but potentially deadly. Poor ventilation can trap toxic gases, and conditions are often worsened by human and animal waste. The danger spikes during monsoon season, when heavy rain can flood the channels and wash away the few supplies people have.

Shine a Light organizes volunteer groups to deliver help directly. Volunteers purchase and assemble supply bags, like the ones the Aces helped pack, then visit multiple tunnel locations to assist as many people as possible.

The Aces are not stopping there. The team announced it will partner with the UNLV Lady Rebels on Jan. 31 in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, offering a free pregame clinic for local athletes. The clinic will be held at UNLV’s Mendenhall Center at 9 a.m…
