WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — One person was hospitalized after they jumped from a second-story window to escape an apartment fire in D.C. on Sunday, according to the DC Fire and EMS Department.
In a post to the X platform around 8 a.m., crews responded to reports of a fire in the hallway of a three-story apartment building in the 5200 block of 3rd St. NW.

There, flames and heavy smoke were found in the second-floor hallway. A resident then jumped from the window to escape before the fire was extinguished.
According to firefighters, the person was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They will not be displaced…
