Buffalo Tops Duquesne in Straight Sets

Buffalo, N.Y. – The Duquesne University men’s tennis team traveled to Buffalo, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 7-0 decision to the Bulls inside the Miller Tennis Center.

Buffalo grabbed the early advantage in doubles play, winning two of the three matches. At the top spot, junior Austin Lai and senior Alfrendo Vogelaar fell 7-5 to Clement Mainguy and Theodoros Mitsakos, while sophomores Enrique Lana and Aril Kayra Tuna dropped a 6-4 decision to Michael Malkin and Minjae Kim.

The Bulls carried that momentum into singles, sweeping all six matches to secure the victory. At the top spot, Lana fell 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 10-4 to Mitsakos, while Tuna lost to Onder Balci, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. Lai was defeated 6-2, 6-1 by Kim at third singles, and Vogelaar fell 6-1, 6-4 to Malkin. At the final two positions, sophomore Teo Papadopoulos was handed a 6-1, 6-1 loss to Nasyam, and sophomore Tancredi Alfano dropped a 6-3, 5-7, 10-6 decision to Cowen Lau…
